Table 12. Am29DL640G Command Definitions
Legend:
X = Don’t care
RA = Address of the m em ory loca ti on to be re ad.
RD = Data read from locati on RA during read oper ation.
PA = A ddres s of the memory locatio n to be progr amme d. Address e s
latch on the f alling e dge of th e W E# or CE#f pulse, wh iche ver hap pens
later.
PD = Data to be programmed at location PA. Data latches on t he ri sing
edge of WE# or CE# f pulse, whichever happens fir st.
SADD = Addres s of the sector to be v erified (in autoselect mode) or
erased. Address bi ts A21–A12 u niquely sele ct any sector . Refer to
Table 3 for information on sector addresses.
BA = Addres s of the bank that is being switch ed to a utoselec t mode, is
in bypass mode, or is being erased. Address bits A21–A19 select a
bank. Refer to Tab le 4 for info rmati on on sector addresses.
Notes:
1. See Tables 1–2 for description of bus operations.
2. All values are in hexadecimal.
3. Except for the read cycle and the fourth cycle of the autoselect
command sequence, all bus cycl es are write cycles.
4. Data bits DQ15–DQ8 are don’t care in command sequences,
except for RD and PD.
5. Unless ot herwise noted, addr ess bits A21–A12 are don’t cares f or
unlock and command cycles, unl ess SADD or PA is required.
6. No unlock or command cycles required when bank is reading
array data.
7. The Reset command i s requi red to return to the read mode (or to
the erase-suspend-read mode if previously in Erase Suspend)
when a bank is in the autosel ect mode, or if DQ5 goes high (while
the bank is providing status information).
8. The fourth cycle of the autoselect command sequence is a read
cycle. The system must provide t he bank address to obtain the
manufacturer ID, device ID, or SecSi Sector factory protect
information. Data bits DQ15–DQ8 are don’t care. See the
Autoselect Command Sequence section for more information.
9. The device ID must be read across the fourth, fifth, and si xth
cycles.
10. The data is 80h for factory locked and 00h fo r not factory locked.
11. The data is 00h for an unprotected sector/sector block and 01h
for a protected sector/sector block.
12. The Unl ock Bypass command is requi red prior to the Unlock
Bypass Program command.
13. The Unlock Bypass Reset command is required to ret urn to the
read mode when the bank is in the unlock bypass mode.
14. The system may read and program in non-erasing sectors, or
enter the autoselect mode, when in the Erase Suspend mode.
The Erase Suspend command is valid only during a sector erase
operation, and r equires the bank address.
15. The Er ase Resume command is valid only during the Erase
Suspend mode, and requires the bank address.
16. Command is valid when device is ready to read array data or when
device is in autoselect mode.
