1. General description
The 74AHCT245A is an 8-bit transceiver with 3-state outputs. The device features an
output enable (OE
) and send/rec eiv e (DIR) for direction con tro l. A HIGH on OE causes
the outputs to assume a high-impedance OFF-state.
The 74AHCT245A is designed to operate over a V
CC
range from 4.5 V to 5.5 V. The input s
are TTL compatible, which allows the device to be used to translate from 3.3 V to 5 V.
Schmitt-trigger action at all input s makes the circuit tolerant of slower input rise and fall
times.
This device is fully specified for partial Power-down applications using I
OFF
.
The I
OFF
circuitry disables the ou tp u t, pr eve n tin g the damaging backflow current through
the device when it is powered down.
