Version 1.5 of the CP2102/9 datasheet is now available. See appendix for a complete description of
the changes.
The CP2102/9 datasheet is available at www.silabs.com. Please contact your Silicon Labs’ Sales

A data sheet errata for the CP2109 has been issued for USB certification. The CP2102/9 data sheet
includes the USB logo which indicates that the device has passed USB certification. This is correct
for the CP2102, which is USB certified. The certification for the CP2109 is in progress and will be
completed by April 30

Reason for Change:
The CP2102/9 datasheet was updated to include the new CP2109. Other changes include minor
updates, additions and corrections to the specifications and text descriptions, as noted in the
Appendix.
The CP2109, with a one-time programmable ROM, is a pin-compatible version of the CP2102 with a
single exception; The CP2109 requires an additional capacitor between VPP and GND for in-
application programming. This capacitor is not required after the CP2109 EPROM has been
successfully programmed or if the CP2109 does not need to be customized in system.
